Good to hear that you are continuing iwth the game.

One area that i have intermittant/regular as clockwork ping issues is around Control Points. The reason why its intermittant, i cant guarentee when it will start, but when it does, then that CP is a major issue for me for a few days.

What made it stranger was that I went to other CP's when they were under *heavier* attack and i had NO issues at all...

Go back the *problem* CP, and I have the lag.

Go figure.....
1) I reject your reality.... and substitute my own
2) Not to be used when upset... will void warranty
3) Stoke me a clipper i will be back for dinner
4) Never tell Gangrel to do anything... he will probably get it wrong
5) I have seen more intelligence from an NPC AI in TR beta, than from most MMO players.

Heh you explained merit of the problem in these few words better than I did in big post and we both have same problem, even when doing instance (Parvis Research- it is an instance right?) i experience lag spikes, even when it's not massive encounter or plenty of details to load..

Strange, as in Pravis i have had no issues with.

Then again as you said you were running below min spec, it could be something to do with your current system (ie slowdown when loading up new mobs etc)

TR is not just Graphics intensive, it is also CPU intensive  specially when there is a lot of particle effects on the map.

I'll go mad with this game   :'(

Lag spikes still present, I even experience new kind of problem: constant lag (when I eventually manage to join server) with pings as high as 67k ms, 22k ms average.. I made exeptions in both windows and router firewalls for all TR ports given by NCsoft, enabled DEP, run dxdiag, tested performance of my hardware, checked if all drivers are up to date. Next thing I did was extending pagefile, reducing windows for pure performance and so on. I flushed dns server too.. Run NCsoft connection test and I know now that i loose 100% package in one certain point:

I know I should send support ticket rather than being pain in the neck here, on forums, but I'm still waiting for my retail TR version... And before I get it want to sure i will be able to play this game.. On weekend I hardly could log into gameworld, and pings were usually same on all servers so EU server- usually most crowded- is not worse than any other for me at the moment..
I fear it's my ISP- in case its truth I wont be able to stay in game, because I don't believe my ISP will give a sh** about this issue.. Well I'll see when I'll be able to send support ticket, in meantime I ask for advise on my problem- loss of data always in same spot isn't random at all, so it looks solveable, what do you think? Have you seen/experienced something similar?

Best regards,
Ron Voxmortem

The packet loss part at playNC is to be expected.

The problem I see is you travel on Tiscali  links.  Tiscali is very into packet filtering (traffic shaping)  and many who try to play TR on Tiscali have high packet delays and lag.

I assume that nothing can be done about it. ISP can't switch Tiscali links to something else, just like that, am I right?

ISP can setup routing rules of perfer paths to servers if they
1. Have other paths available
2. Willing to do so.
