Well, it isn't really beta registration, it's just for the forum - but they'll be picking beta apps from a mix of the most active/involved and completely random forumites, as far as I know, when the time comes (Supposedly somewhere next year, my Sharp Analytical Mind™ says February)

The game seems like took ideas from other games. nothing original, but gameplay seems fun enough. If it were started at the time of GA, i would join in , but as it gets released in 2011, when SWTOR comes out then the choice is obvious :)

The last part in a gameplay where the base shootout is shown, is it a pve or pvp event?

I might check it then the open beta starts but that is all.

PvE is the main focus of the game, and everything shown so far is PvE.

It looks like a fun game.

Of course, I won't actually have a real opinion until I've tried it personally.
Lately, I've been making the mistake of looking cool=good gameplay.

I like the general concept, but those backpacks are wierd to me.
I've always favored slimline equipment.
It looks like they're running around with a nuclear reactor on their back.

My crab mines never seemed to have problems with targeting the enemies, they seemed smarter then everyone elses for some reason.
Nanites and controlled fission were also favorites of mine.

I wander, why a cell shading technology suddenly become so popular?

But ye, seems fun enough :)

In the following video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CuuBUFPZ-UY) a dev at the end said that when the game will be released it will be free to play and free to download. Would be interesting to see they f2p model

ye saw that vid, will be interesting indeed, I would however not have anything against a monthly sub for it though :P since it looks like a good replacement for TR.

Yeah, but they do say they'll have a fair item shop.

And the lead designer is the lead designer from Tribes 1 and 2, so they're covered there.

I have played Tribes 2 in offline mode with bots( at that time an internet connection for me was an unreachable luxury :) ), a gameplay was subpar, compared to Unreal or Quake of that time. hope they learned on they mistakes

You MUST update tribes 2, it wasn't working entirely correctly at the initial release.
Which I agree is kind of hard to do without an internet connection.
But trust me, once updated the gameplay had a flow to it that (as far as I know) has been surpassed only by halo in how satisfying it was.
It was also very popular with modders, that improved on an already good game, adding great variety to anyone's T2 experience.

... ah, how I miss the days when I could go from 0 to 2000 points in a single run with a good pilot for the bomber. Or when that team killer went complaining in the chat about not being able to kill me even though he surprised me 2 out of 3 attempts. ;D

Tribes Starsiege (1) was moderately revolutionary for its time, but other than that I don't get why people think so highly of it.

Tribes 2 is free now, and people still seem to play: http://www.tribesnext.com/
Might want to give it a try. For me, I'm afraid that whole 1999-2002 early 3D period in games just doesn't work. Of course there are exceptions, but generally I can't get into a game I didn't play at that time. The sad thing is, it's the graphics. They simply haven't aged well.

Hi-Rez studios bought a Planetside IP and going to do a planetside 2. It would be interesting to check out, somewhere in a future.

Wait, Planetside, too? So soon after they bought Tribes? Are you sure?

In case you were wondering, there's already a sizeable thread about it on the Firefall forum. General opinion is that HiRez won't be able to make a good game after how bad GA is. These people greatly underestimate the ability some people have to learn from their mistakes.
