awesome new gaming community starting up
« on: February 17, 2011, 09:46:47 PM »
I am a member of a new website just starting(in beta) up to act as a “social network of gaming”.  This website is our Guild's official community, and it has been just that, a community, an organization under a common cause, for over 20 years.  But now we have realized that now is the time to try and unite the vast yet separated communities of gaming, and it begins within fine establishments such as this.

On the website, each user keeps a social profile, and there is a  main forum, streaming radio, and social groups that ANY user can create which sustain their own discussion boards. This allows for the discussion of any game (or any real common interest) to ensue.

There is even a social group for Tabula Rasa!! I think it would be a great place to start promotion for the open source cause.

If this sounds remotely appealing please check it out at : www.orderoflaibach.com - more info there obviously, friend me if you choose to register! :D

Umm, no. Thanks, but I dislike social networking. Besides, don't Xfire and a lot of other sites do the same thing already?

facebook, myspace, twitter. Are there not people that have combinations or even all 3? likewise with messengers, and those involved with gaming. I log in to steam and XF daily- each has a few little perks over each other but that's irrelevant.

And no, steam and XF are not central hubs for gaming communities, they are communication implements for segregated groups of them. This site, however, combines the functionality and user friendliness of a social network with everything that a good gaming community has and more- forums, blogs , social groups that sustain their own forums, photo albums, activity walls and soon more(great for a gaming group to get most of the functionality of its own site for free whilst being part of the grander scheme of things, hence more opportunities for recruitment, promotion, and overall fun.)

No, it is not for everybody(though all are welcome, even non gamers), but something of this nature has never really been attempted until now.

the FAQ, home page and history tabs on the site can yield  more information. thanks for your time.

QR: THe guild leader FAQ is broken as only the top and bottom javascript bit works, and none of the other questions bring up their own answers (unless of course this is Working As Intended)
1) I reject your reality.... and substitute my own
2) Not to be used when upset... will void warranty
3) Stoke me a clipper i will be back for dinner
4) Never tell Gangrel to do anything... he will probably get it wrong
5) I have seen more intelligence from an NPC AI in TR beta, than from most MMO players.
6) BLOG ME!

they are. Revisions are underway at the current point in time, it should not be long before they once again function. sorry for the inconvenience.
