Alright. Due to some confusion (i. e. me being sure that I have legacy status and get a month of free subscription at launch), I won't actually be joining anyone for another day or two.

Thoughts on the game so far, without going into specifics: I'm not entirely sold on the game, but I will play it for some time to see for myself. I liked the original version much better despite its flaws, but of course I admit that ARR is a much smoother experience. A lot of the game's most interesting and unique features were cut along with most of the unnecessary and unintuitive elements. From a very free-form, sandbox experience, FFXIV became a straightforward, traditional instance- and aggro system-driven MMOG. It does retain a heavy emphasis on crafting and gathering, which have been greatly simplified. And if I didn't know of FFXI, I would've deleted the game without a second thought.

However, I know how complex Eleven got at a high level, and Fourteen's own head designer said several times that they want a very gentle learning curve even if it means that you play with only one button in the beginning. So there may be hope yet, assuming the learning curve is so smooth that entire new mechanics are introduced throughout the game.

I am waiting for my copy to arrive... just ordered it yesterday, so am going to give the game a shot... Moogle server (after doing some research), seems to be the one that I would be aiming for.
1) I reject your reality.... and substitute my own
2) Not to be used when upset... will void warranty
3) Stoke me a clipper i will be back for dinner
4) Never tell Gangrel to do anything... he will probably get it wrong
5) I have seen more intelligence from an NPC AI in TR beta, than from most MMO players.
6) BLOG ME!

Scratch Moogle off the list for now... the server is not accepting new players (right now that is)... will give it a while and see if it frees up at all

As per official news the following servers are under restriction:
http://eu.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/news/detail/5e3eead23ee4ec2d9c36588c13effb0101d5eb73

There is no Moogle server in the list.
Nonetheless I cannot currently log onto it myself, seems there are some issues with it, so we just need to be patient.

this suggests otherwise (each separate post is a different day really).

Moogle was listed yesterday at 7:30pm ish... and since midday today, i have been unable to create a character on *ANY* EU server... made a character on Faerie though (snuck in somehow)

Am trying to... am thinking of pulling a late night to see if they do free it up a little bit... Just hit level 5 on the archer, so not much to redo really. Also gives me time to work out the keybindings for the G13

If anything they going to add more worlds in Monday so it should be easier to get in moogle by that time.
But ys, try an early morning. They haven't implemented AFK kicking yet, so you can log in and stay there as long as you can.
